Mental Health Therapy and Trauma
BrickWays is pleased to announce that the agency will now offer a new venue for servicing clients, persons with disabilities and their families within the greater local community. We have expanded our services with the addition of Mental Health Therapy and Trauma Focused-CBT Therapy.
BrickWays is contracted to provide therapy with CHAMPS (Community Health Automated Medicaid Processing Center), McLaren Medicaid, McLaren Medicare and DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services). We are currently in the process of developing a Medicaid and Medicare contract with Meridian Medicaid.
We recognized there was a need for specialized CBT Trauma Therapy with our clients and others within the community. The Trauma Focused-CBT Model is used nationwide. It is a short term therapy with a focus on developing a safe environment, learning relaxation techniques, improving coping skills, identifying triggers, decreasing anxiety and working through trauma related experiences. It also incorporates family education to provide support of the client during and after the completion of therapy.
The main focus is on adult Trauma Focused-CBT Therapy. It is also beneficial to persons with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Mild to Moderate Disability, Marginal Intelligence Quotient and is customized by the therapist for the client’s and family’s needs.
Our therapist, Nancy Kollhoff, MA, LPC, has a Master's Degree and has fulfilled the requirements to become a Trauma Focused-CBT Therapist. Nancy was appointed by BrickWays in November 2016 to develop the BrickWays Mental Health Counseling Service.
Please call Nancy Kolhoff at (231) 633-1564 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
